About the Filmmaker
Kayla Marriott graduated from MassArt with a BFA in Film/Video in 2020. While studying she primarily focused on writing, directing, and producing. Her previous short films have been screened at hand selected All School Shows and local film festivals. As a filmmaker Kayla is particularly drawn to horror. She believes horror is the best tool to evoke emotions out of a viewer, to portray the psychology of each character and provides commentary on society.
For her senior thesis Kayla wanted to make an homage to horror films. She employed various tropes and horror film techniques in a fresh way to create You Can’t See Out.
